Maisie Maris is an artist based in and from London. Her practice includes sculpture, installation, textiles and drawing to bind the human and geological together. She creates a type of body geology through haptic and ethnographic approaches to environments - viscous skins, exposed seams and cracked edges, spill and overflow in her materiality, her works are vulnerable bodies merging with each other and the world.

Maris’ work exposes the teetering edge that binds forms together but also lets them fall apart. It entangles the human body with our surrounding natural landscape to reveal our impact on the environment, narratives that entwine human and nature’s co-dependency in future survival.

Maris received her MA in Sculpture from the Royal College of Art in 2019, supported by The Cass Scholarship. She received her BA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths University in 2015 and a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design from Central Saint Martins in 2012.
